With 63 saves on 66 shots in 2 games, the Winterhawks Player of the Week for October 12 through October 18 is Cruz Chase.
After sitting for 4 weeks, he made his season debut in 2 straight games, and came up very big on the road, with a shutout in Penticton and another big game in Kelowna. He won one game and lost in overtime in the other.
- Monday at Kamloops: did not play in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Blazers.
- Wednesday at Penticton: 29 saves on 29 shots in a 2-0 win over the Vees.
- Friday at Kelowna: 34 saves on 37 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Rockets.
It’s pretty likely he won’t have to wait 4 weeks for his next game.
