Friday: Spokane trailed 5-1 with 2 minutes left in the 2nd period and came all the way back, mostly in a 3rd period where they scored 4 goals and outshot the Winterhawks 13-1. A game that could have lasting repercussions for Portland if they don’t react well to it.

With two 6-5 losses, the Winterhawks have dropped from 2nd in the league in goals against to 10th.

It should be said that Spokane, while they seem like a juggernaut and have points in 8 straight games, winning 7, 7 of their games in that span have been by one goal (winning 6, losing 1, with an overtime win, a shootout win, and a shootout loss).

Make your picks

In the comments, give your pick for

  1. the winner
  2. “over” or “under” 6.5 total goals scored by both teams
  3. the game winning goal scorer (based on hockey’s GWG rules; shootout winner does count.)

One point for each correct pick; high score wins. Ties are broken by the last game’s score, and the ones before that if still tied. All 3s win the night regardless of tiebreaker.

Resident Genius: Randy (2nd this season).

Last: Spokane, over, Sparks.

On this site, it’s a jinx to NOT mention the shutout.
